Universal Wrecking Corp. was tasked with a technical demolition project at a former chemical manufacturing plant that required both interior and exterior demolition services.

Prior to demolition services, asbestos abatement of piping and other asbestos containing materials was completed.

Interior demolition services required a complete gut out of the interior of the facility.  This included removal of all all piping, conduit, pumps, vessels, tanks, equipment and a large steel and concrete mezzaine.  To acccomplish this task UWC utilized their skilled demolition technicians to surgically cut and remove these items without damaging the structural steel members to remain. The expert demolition crews used manlifts and scissor lifts and demolition torches to perform the cutting operations.

UWC was also able to get their smaller Caterpillar excavator with a shear attachment into the larger section of the facility to make quick work of the larger tanks and vessels.  It also assisted in sizing the other metal prices into scrap metal.

Following interior demolition services, UWC had to remove a series of roof top vessels and well as a cluster of silos on the side of the building.  UWC utilized a crane and their Caterpillar excavator to rig and load the silos for direct shipment to the scrap metal recycling facility.

UWC also performed the removal of 2 large aluminum silos.  These silos were rigged down and carefully placed on their sides for sale by the client.

The project was successfully completed in less then 2 months without incident or injury.
